Start out by saying “Alexa, open Ambient Noise” to open up the skill. Alexa will prompt you for the sound you want to hear, and if you’ve forgotten what’s available you can also receive the full list with the “Alexa, ask Ambient Noise for a list” command.

How to use ‘Ambient Noise’ for Amazon Alexa

Once you’ve decided on your sound, it’ll play indefinitely until you say “Alexa, stop.” To set a timer, simply say “Alexa, stop in…” and then the duration of time you’d like the sound to run for. Once the time is up, the sound will stop automatically and the skill will close, making it an easy way to make a sleep, study, or meditation timer.
